Salima Ayadi is an artist graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Algiers, specializing\u00a0in painting on silk<\/strong>. Many times commissioned\u00a0by Algerian institutions<\/strong>\u00a0such as the Senate, the National People\u2019s Assembly or for large local companies such as Air Algerie, Salima Ayadi now unveils her art\u00a0to the general public<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Nineteen paintings and no less than thirty scarves<\/strong>\u00a0are on display at\u00a0the Museum of Antiquities and Islamic Arts in Algiers<\/strong>, until February 13. Quite naturally, the exhibition\u00a0\u201cMy Silk Road\u201d illustrates the rich cultural and historical heritage of Algeria<\/strong>, from its architecture to traditional ceramic and earthenware designs, through Arabic calligraphy. As a true aesthete, his works take the form of landscapes and monuments of all regions of the country, highlighting its great diversity, from Algiers to Kabylia in the north of the country.<\/p>\n

A noble art, a capricious technique<\/h4>\n

Painting on silk is a noble art that requires\u00a0a great technicality<\/strong>. It requires indeed a great reflection and a plan of attack prior to the creation, because no return is possible once the ink impregnated on the fabric. The error is fatal, especially since Salima has\u00a0a taste for bright colors<\/strong>, which sign her paintings where each detail is meticulously drawn.<\/p>\n

New illustrations of Algeria<\/h4>\n

The artist has presented herself on many occasions at collective or individual exhibitions, and even beyond the national borders,\u00a0as far as Libya and Morocco<\/strong>. Her next project:\u00a0the edition of an art book<\/strong>\u00a0that gathers all her works, always with in its heart:\u00a0\u201cthe richness and the variety of the cultural heritage of all the regions of Algeria\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
