ALGIERS \u2013 A grandiose military parade, the first in 33 years, is being organized, in Algiers, by the People\u2019s National Army (ANP) on the occasion of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of independence, under the supervision of the President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune.<\/p>\n

The military show of force, which perpetuates the entrenched military traditions of the People\u2019s National Army, takes place on the National Road (RN 11), adjoining Djama\u00e2 El Djaza\u00efr to El Mohammadia.<\/p>\n

It is broadcast live on all Algerian television channels.<\/p>\n

Several Heads of State and delegations from brotherly and friendly countries, who arrived in Algiers on Monday, take part in this parade marking the festivities of the 60th anniversary of the recovery of national sovereignty.<\/p>\n

They are the President of the Republic of Tunisia, Mr Ka\u00efs Sa\u00efed, the President of the State of Palestine, Mr Mahmoud Abbas, the President of the Republic of Congo, Mr Denis Sassou-Nguesso, the President of the Republic of Niger, Mr. Mohamed Bazoum, President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Mrs. Sahle-Work Zewdie, President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, President of the Italian Senate , Mrs. Maria Elisabetta Alberti Casellati, the Libyan Minister for Foreign Affairs Najla el Menkouche and the Emirati Minister for Tolerance and Coexistence Secheikh Nahyane Ben Mabrouk al Nahyane.<\/p>\n

Earlier, President Tebboune, inaugurated, at the esplanade of Riadh El Feth (Algiers), a stele dedicated to the \u201cFriends of the Algerian Revolution\u201d, on the occasion of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the recovery of national sovereignty. Adorned with the words \u201cFriends of the Revolution: brothers in struggle, eternal gratitude\u201d, the stele bears the names of foreign friends of the glorious National Liberation Revolution.<\/p>\n

Right after, President Tebboune paid a tribute to the memory of Algerian martyrs of the glorious Liberation War at the Algiers Martyr Sanctuary. After the Republican Guard gave him an honorary salute, President Tebboune, who was accompanied by senior officials in the state and the army, laid a wreath of flowers in front of the memorial, observed a minute of silence and recited the Fatiha of the Holy Quran in memory of the chouhada of the National Liberation War.<\/p>\n

The President of the Republic was accompanied by the Speaker of the Council of the Nation, Mr. Salah Goudjil, the Speaker of the People\u2019s National Assembly (APN), Mr. Brahim Boughali, the Prime Minister, Mr. Aimene Benabderrahmane, and the Chief of Staff of the People\u2019s National Army (ANP), Army General Sa\u00efd Chanegriha, as well as senior State officials, members of the Government and the mujahideen.<\/p>\n

11:15 a.m. Land forces appear before the President of the Republic and his guests. The Fush 2 are armored vehicles with the latest generation equipment. They are followed by all-terrain vehicles produced in Tiaret and which constitute support for other forces, in particular soldiers in operation.<\/p>\n

11:25 a.m. the TLZ 45s begin their passage. They are self-propelled armored vehicles equipped with heavy anti-missile weapons. They also include anti-biological and chemical weapons protections able to reach even the rear of opposing troops.<\/p>\n

11:35 am: Passage of a division of S300, one of the most powerful means of attack in the world capable of defending itself against ballistic rockets. Possessing radars that can track 100 targets at the same time and hit 6 targets at the same time.<\/p>\n

11:36 a.m .: On the other side from the official platform, at sea, Kalaat Beni Hammed, an LST type landing ship, used by the Algerian navy, enters. A few moments before, two marine submarines, the Djurdjura and the Ouarsenis, is a Kilo-class submarine of the naval forces, intended for anti-shipping and anti-submarine operations in shallow waters.<\/p>\n

11 40 Passage of light all-terrain vehicles equipped with ground and air weapons.<\/p>\n

11:40 a.m: Passage of the elite troops of the ANP, including the formidable 104th regiment of operational maneuvers (104th RMO) of the Republican Guard. Paratroopers are also on the program.<\/p>\n
