Algerian state-run energy company Sonatrach has begun production operations in Tinrhert gas field, with an estimated production capacity of 4.5 million cubic meters of natural gas daily, the firm said on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Production capacity is estimated to also reach an average of 500 tons of liquefied natural gas and 800 tons of condensate per day.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe project involves building a network connecting 36 gas wells from the Tinrhert field to the separation and compression facilities in the neighboring Ohanet field,\u201d the statement said, adding that gradual production from the field began in July.<\/p>\n

In January 2019, the field was granted to state-run ENGCB, a subsidiary of Sonatrach for the collection and delivery aspect, and Petrofac was awarded a contract for a new inlet separation and compression centre, extending the existing central processing facility<\/p>\n

In July, Sonatrach and its partners, Italian oil giant Eni, France\u2019s TotalEnergies, and the US firm Occidental said they will invest $4 billion in the perimeter of Berkine to produce 1 billion barrels of oil equivalent hydrocarbons. The contract is a production-sharing type that is part of the memorandum of understanding concluded between the four companies at the end of January.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
