Algerianism \ud83d\udd4a\ud83c\udde9\ud83c\uddff<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s about to reintroduce our beautiful culture! Our identity, Our Algerianity!<\/p>\n<p>You may have seen that playing Carmen aka K\u0101r\u00eem\u0101 is not a difficult thing! Here is our heritage!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wassim, who studied sociolinguistics, and Nouceiba, a high school student, want to introduce young people to traditional Algerian music.<\/p>\n<div class=\"facebook-responsive\"><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=307&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fgulftoday%2Fvideos%2F1083370972331429%2F&amp;show_text=false&amp;width=560&amp;t=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"307\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>They recently stood out on the Internet with their atypical music videos: Wassim Belarbi and Noussa\u00efba Bettahare, by their stage name Jbaliqs, breathe new life into ch\u00e2abi, one of the most popular musical genres in Algeria. Videos that went viral and quickly made them known.<\/p>\n<p>They have been musicians since a young age and have always promoted Algerian traditions, but their real web adventure was born three months ago.<\/p>\n<p>Wassim, 21, and Noussa\u00efba, 15, shared their first video on Instagram in January.<\/p>\n<p>They took the stage name Jbaliqs, which represents &#8220;the Arabization of the Latin word Juba (Berber king)&#8221;, explains Wassim, the initiator of the project.<\/p>\n<p>We also find in each of their covers Berber sounds, &#8220;a guarantor part of cha\u00e2bi city music&#8221;, insists the young artist.<\/p>\n<p>Wassim and Noussa\u00efba want to introduce young people to traditional Algerian music.
