President Tebboune clarified that even electric vehicles will be produced and marketed next March.<\/p>\n
“The Fiat manufacturer is starting to open its workshops and the production of vehicles will begin very soon, in March, as well as the marketing of vehicles of the Italian brand, including electric ones,” Tebboune said during a joint press briefing with the head of the Italian government, Giorgia Meloni.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
In view of the arrival of electric vehicles on the country’s roads, the Minister of Energy, Mohamed Arkab, announced a few weeks ago the upcoming launch of the project to build electric charging stations by Naftal.<\/p>\n
It should be recalled that the Ministry of Industry and the \u201cStellantis\u201d group had signed, on October 13, 2022, a framework agreement on the development of automobile manufacturing activities and after-sales and spare parts services for the brand \u201c fiat\u201d.<\/p>\n
As a reminder, the “FIAT” factory is located in the wilaya of Oran, on a land base of 40 hectares and another adjacent of 80 hectares.<\/p>\n
The initial production capacity of this “FIAT” factory is 60,000 vehicles\/year from the first year before reaching 90,000 vehicles\/year later.<\/p>\n
It is expected, continues President Tebboune, the launch of the manufacture of “Vespa” brand motorcycles in Guelma before “moving to other stages” of this bilateral partnership, stressing that “the two countries are working to expand their cooperation on all plans\u201d.<\/p>\n

On the same occasion, President Tebboune affirmed that “Algeria aims to make Italy a hub for the distribution of Algerian energy in Europe, whether it is electricity or gas, not only natural gas, but also hydrogen, ammonia and others\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Regarding Italian investments in Algeria, the President of the Republic highlighted Algeria’s “significant experience” with Italian industry.<\/p>\n
