The announcement was made by the Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industry, Didouche Mukhtar, during a visit to a traditional crafts exhibition in the provincial capital, Timimoun.<\/p>\n<p>In a bid to foster national and international recognition for Algerian traditional industries, the Minister shared plans for the market as part of a larger strategic initiative. The proposed market space will feature open halls designed for the display and sale of traditional craft products, creating a platform for local goods to be marketed and encouraging domestic and international visitors to explore Algeria\u2019s traditional craft heritage.<\/p>\n<h4>Highlighting Timimoun\u2019s Traditional Crafts<\/h4>\n<p>Timimoun province is renowned for its eclectic mix of traditional and handicraft products. These include\u00a0<strong>Fantasy carpets<\/strong>, various items crafted from palm leaves, such as baskets, along with traditional jewelry and clothing.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the market, a digital platform called\u00a0<strong>\u201cTradition is My Identity\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0has been developed by a young entrepreneur. This innovative platform is designed to promote traditional crafts online, connecting artisans and facilitating the marketing of their handmade crafts. Minister Didouche expressed his appreciation for the innovation, pledging his and his department\u2019s support for such forward-thinking enterprises in the tourism sector.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune inaugurated the 31st Algerian Production Fair, attended by 580 exhibitors at the Exhibition Centre in Algiers. The President stressed the importance of meeting local needs before exporting and commended the progress of the mechanical industry in Algeria.
