L’\u00e9crivain franco-alg\u00e9rien Kamel Daoud, laur\u00e9at du Prix Goncourt 2024 pour son roman\u00a0Houris<\/em>, est actuellement assign\u00e9 en justice en France par Sa\u00e2da Arbane, une rescap\u00e9e d’un massacre perp\u00e9tr\u00e9 durant la guerre civile alg\u00e9rienne des ann\u00e9es 1990. Mme Arbane accuse l’auteur d’avoir utilis\u00e9 son histoire personnelle sans son consentement pour construire l’intrigue de son roman. Elle r\u00e9clame 200 000 euros de dommages et int\u00e9r\u00eats ainsi qu’une publicit\u00e9 de la condamnation \u00e9ventuelle.<\/p>\n

Selon Mme Arbane, le personnage principal du roman, Aube, une jeune femme muette apr\u00e8s une tentative d\u2019\u00e9gorgement par un islamiste, reprend son propre v\u00e9cu. Elle affirme que Kamel Daoud, dont l\u2019\u00e9pouse est psychiatre, l\u2019a connue en tant que patiente entre 2015 et 2023. Elle soutient que l\u2019auteur a exploit\u00e9 son histoire sans son accord, malgr\u00e9 ses demandes r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9es pour que son r\u00e9cit reste priv\u00e9.<\/p>\n

L\u2019assignation cite des preuves, notamment des t\u00e9moignages m\u00e9dicaux et des similitudes troublantes entre la vie de Mme Arbane et le personnage de fiction. Les avocats de Mme Arbane d\u00e9noncent un \u00ab pillage \u00bb de son histoire et soulignent le caract\u00e8re exceptionnel de cette affaire en mati\u00e8re de violation de la vie priv\u00e9e sous couvert de fiction.<\/p>\n

Kamel Daoud, d\u00e9j\u00e0 vis\u00e9 par une plainte en Alg\u00e9rie, d\u00e9fend son \u0153uvre en affirmant que l\u2019histoire est publique et que le roman ne cite pas explicitement Mme Arbane. Son \u00e9diteur, Gallimard, d\u00e9nonce quant \u00e0 lui une campagne de diffamation orchestr\u00e9e par des m\u00e9dias proches du r\u00e9gime alg\u00e9rien.<\/p>\n

Une premi\u00e8re audience est pr\u00e9vue le 7 mai 2024 au tribunal judiciaire de Paris.<\/p>\n
