The official added that the copy is in the Warsh narration and include both the usual script and the Braille writing system.
The plan to print the Braille copies of Quran was ordered in April 2022 by Algeria’s President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
Tebboune ordered the cabinet at the time to draw up a plan for publishing Quran copies as well as books of Hadiths in braille to help the visually-impaired in Algeria, the Arab world, Africa and elsewhere in the world.
Braille is a writing system which enables the blind and partially-sighted people to read and write through touch.
It was invented by Louis Braille (1809-1852), who was blind and became a teacher of the blind.
In recent years, the Holy Quran and religious books have been printed in Braille to help the visually-impaired Muslims read the texts with ease.
