Eager to regain a privileged position in Confederation of African Football (CAF), Algeria is moving behind the scenes to end the stranglehold of the Morocco in the governing body of African football.
The last ordinary general meeting of the CAF allowed to Algeria to achieve a first victory in front of its North African neighbour.
In fact, the president of the African Football Federation (FAF), Djahid Zefizefhad proposed to the CAF to cancel the article which blocked the adhesion of new African nations to CAF.
This proposal reportedly received the support of several member associations within the Confederation of African Football.

African football could really do without this political conflict between Morocco and Algeria which only further rots the atmosphere within CAF.
